A new study has found a possible link between sildenafil and erectile dysfunction.
Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), which can cause distress and anxiety, and is known to be linked with heart disease.

“We found that sildenafil is associated with a small, statistically significant increase in blood flow to the penis, which is associated with a low risk of cardiovascular disease,” said Dr. John O’Connor, who conducted the research.
The study is expected to be published in the November 2018 issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

A Canadian pharmacy that sells a generic version of the popular erectile dysfunction drug Viagra was found to have the same active ingredient as its US-authorized rival, generic sildenafil.
Canadian pharmacies in the US are not allowed to sell generic versions of Viagra because the Canadian government said it was "under a valid prescription".
